OVERVIEW
The Whitefish Community School (WFCS) was established in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preschool serving the Whitefish community. We provide a safe, creative, and nurturing environment where children explore, learn, and grow together. As a parent-governed cooperative, we involve families in a collaborative effort to run our program, building a close-knit community that fosters lifelong friendships.
To support this collaborative model, we require each family to complete one volunteer hour per month of enrollment. Opportunities range from joining our board to helping on field trips, work parties, art projects, or reading to the children.
Our program features two dedicated, small-group classrooms tailored to different developmental stages. The Caterpillar Room serves toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years with an intimate 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio and a maximum of 10 children per day. The Butterfly Room serves preschool-aged children from 3 to 6 years with a 6:1 ratio and a maximum of 12 children per day.
These low ratios and small class sizes ensure that children in both rooms receive close, individualized attention while participating in activities at their own pace. As a licensed childcare facility, we require that all enrolled children are up to date on all vaccinations according to their age. Immunization Requirements
